2018~2019年: IGTV、いいねカウンターの削除、経営陣の変更

IGTVは2018年6月20日にスタンドアロンの動画アプリとしてリリースされました。このアプリは、利用率の低さと短編動画コンテンツへの移行を理由に、2022年3月に閉鎖され、アプリストアから削除されました。[67]

2022年7月のアップデート

検閲と制限されたコンテンツ
違法薬物

いくつかの国で検閲が行われました。
アメリカ合衆国

2024年8月2日、イスマイル・ハニヤ暗殺事件を受けて、インスタグラムは情報通信技術庁(トルコ)によって禁止された。[478]この禁止は9日間続き、インスタグラムが政府の要求を受け入れ、当局と協力することに同意したことで、2024年8月10日に解除された。[479]
北朝鮮
2015年6月11日に北朝鮮の高麗ホテルで火災が発生した数日後、当局は事件の写真が拡散するのを防ぐためインスタグラムをブロックした。 [480]
イラン

コンテンツモデレーション
多くのソーシャルメディアサイトと同様に、Instagramは自動化されたアルゴリズム、ユーザーレポート、人間によるレビューを組み合わせて、児童虐待やテロの奨励などの違法コンテンツを特定して削除しています。このシステムは、ネットいじめ、ヘイトスピーチ、誤報を特定することも目的としています。[491]
