ローハン家

ロアン家（ブルトン語: Roc'han）は、ブルターニュ地方のロアン出身のフランス貴族で、子爵、後に公爵、王子となった家系です。その血筋はポルホエ子爵に由来し、伝説のコナン・メリアドックにまで遡ると言われています。ポルホエ家を通じて、ロアン家はブルターニュ公爵家と血縁関係にあり、家系が成立した後も再び交流を深めました。中世には、ブルターニュ公国で最も有力な家系の一つでした。ロアン家はフランス王家やイギリス王家とも繋がりを持ち、フランスとヨーロッパの歴史において重要な役割を果たしました。

この一族で唯一生き残っているのは、19世紀初頭に現在のオーストリアに移住したモンバゾン公爵、ブイヨン公爵、オーストリアのロアン公爵のロアン＝ロシュフォール家の一族である。 ^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 2 ]}

1645年に初代ロアン公アンリ2世（1638年に男子相続人なく死去）の唯一の娘マルグリット・ド・ロアンと結婚したアンリ・シャボは、ポワトゥーのシャボ家の最古の分家の末裔であり、1648年にロアン公に叙せられ、自身の名の代わりにロアン＝シャボという名を使うことを許され、こうしてロアン＝シャボ家が誕生した。^[³^]^[⁴^]

起源

ローハン家は、ブルターニュの初代国王、さらには伝説の支配者コナン・メリアドックの子孫であると主張した。^{[ 5 ]}

ロアン家はポルホエ子爵家の末裔である。J.-P. スビグーによれば、最初に知られている子爵ゲテノック（1028 年頃活躍）は、おそらくレンヌ子爵でもあり、ロワール地方の貴族とつながりがあったが、ジョスラン周辺に領地を所有し、そこに城を築いたブルターニュの家系に属していた可能性もある。^{[ 6 ]}

ゲテノックの息子ジョスラン1世（† 1074）は、イングランドのノルマン征服に参加した。彼はベッドフォードシャー、バッキンガムシャー、グロスターシャーの土地と、カーウェントの町を与えられた。彼はヴァンヌ司教マンギーと、ポルホエ、ロアン、ゲメネの子爵オド1世（† 1092年以降）の父であり、オド1世はアンヌ・ド・レオンと結婚し、数人の息子をもうけた。その息子たちの中には、ポルホエの子爵位を継承したジェフリーと、ロアンとカステルヌークの子爵アラン1世黒（1084年 - 1147年、1127年頃活躍）がおり、アラン1世黒はロアン城を建設し、ロアン家の最初の人物となった。^{[ 2 ]}

歴史

12 世紀から 15 世紀にかけて、ロアン家は結婚、買収、相続、遺贈、交換を通じて領地を確保し、拡大し続けました。こうして彼らは中世を通じてブルターニュ公のライバルとなり、利害に応じて、時には公国の最も重要な任務を忠実に遂行し、時にはブルターニュ独立末期のロアンのジャン 2 世のように反乱を起こしました。当時かつてないほど強力だった「大子爵」は、ブルターニュ領の約 5 分の 1 にあたる地域で 20 万人近いブルターニュ人を支配していました。 ^{[ 7 ]}ロアン子爵領の中心はロアネー三角形^{[ 8 ]} (ラシェーズ、ジョスラン、ポンティヴィの 3 つの大きな要塞) で構成されており、その中心はロアン村です。ロアン村は名目上の封土ですが、城は他の 3 つの要塞のために放棄されています。^{[ 9 ]}

アルモリカ半島を二等分するロアン家とリュー家の広大な領地の力に対抗するため、ブルターニュ公爵は両家が海岸に近づくことを阻止し^{[ 10 ]} 、レンヌとナントを主要な拠点とするブルターニュ辺境伯領の要塞群を通じて公国の東部に両家を封鎖した^{[ 11 ]} 。当時、ブルターニュの伝統が色濃く残る環境で不人気だったロアン家は一時的に無力化され、1487年のフランス・ブルターニュ戦争の戦役でフランス軍の直接支援を受けて反撃に出た。この戦争は、ブルターニュの男爵たち（ロアン、リュー、ラヴァルなど）の間で内部分裂があり、彼らは絶えず寝返った。^{[ 12 ]} 1487年から1488年の冬、ジャン2世は公爵軍に包囲され、1488年3月にはラ・シェーズ、ジョスラン、ロアン、ポンティヴィの要塞が次々と陥落した。子爵は依然として息子に公爵位を狙っていたが、失敗に終わった。1491年、ブルターニュのアンヌとシャルル8世の結婚により、公国はフランス王室に併合され、この併合は1532年に正式に承認された。

ロアン家はブルターニュ公爵家と何度か婚姻関係を結び、最後の婚姻は1407年であった。

ロアンのアンリ2世は、ポンティヴィを領地の首都に選んだ。ルイ13世の治世下、マリー・ド・メディシスの摂政時代にプロテスタント派の指導者であった彼は、当時最も偉大な将軍の一人であった。^[¹³^]

17世紀、ロアン家の人々は、自らの血統とフランス宮廷における権力を利用して、外国公（prince étranger）の地位を獲得しようとした。これにより、彼らはすべての公爵や貴族に先立つ、国王（princes du sang）に次ぐ地位を得た。彼らの目的は、かつてのブルターニュ王が実際に統治していたこと、そしてロアン家が彼らの直系の子孫であることを証明することであった。

これらの2つの主張は当時立証が難しく、21世紀の歴史学では使用されていません。^{[ 14 ]}ロアン家はその後、ドン・モリスなどの歴史家を通してこの説に信憑性を持たせることに尽力しましたが、必要に応じて好意を示したり、歴史を強引に歪曲したりもしました。ロアン家は偽造証拠（アンシャン・レジームのこれらの貴族家ではよくあること）のおかげで自分たちの主張を強行せざるを得ませんでした。

この作戦は不確実なままで、フランスの公爵や貴族たちは警戒しており、ロアン家は他の手段で地位を確保した。すなわち、他国の王子一族（ロレーヌ、ラ・トゥール・ドーヴェルニュ、コンデ）との同盟、合法か非合法かを問わず領地を公国に昇格させること（ゲメネ、スービーズ、レオン領主）、ストラスブール司教に就任して帝国王子の地位を得ること、そして王室の寵愛と国王との親密さを利用すること（ルイ14世とスービーズ夫人、ルイ15世とスービーズ元帥、ルイ16世とフランス王家の子供たちの家庭教師であるマルサン夫人）である。

ライバル一族からの攻撃にもかかわらず、ローハン家は権力基盤を確立し、自らの歴史観と系譜観を押し付けることに失敗し、それによって宮廷における権力と信用を確固たるものにする地位を得た。こうして彼らは国王との最も親密な関係を築き上げ、もはや誰もその地位に疑問を抱くことはできなかった。

その名前は、モルビアン県のゲメネ＝シュル＝スコルフという町に由来する。

ロアン＝ゲメネ家のこの分家は、その分家であるロアン＝ロシュフォール家を通じて現在も存続している。

ロアン＝ロシュフォール支店

この家系は、シャルル・ド・ロアン＝ゲメネ、別名シャルル・ド・ロアン＝ロシュフォール（1693年 - 1766年）を通じてロアン＝ゲメネ家の分家であり、彼はロシュフォール公の称号を名乗った。

19世紀初頭にオーストリアに移住したロアン＝ロシュフォール家は、現在ではロアン家の最後の分家である。彼らは、モンバゾン公爵（1588年、フランス）、ブイヨン公爵（1816年、ウィーン会議）、ロアン公爵、そして神聖ローマ帝国の王子（敬称： Durchlaucht ）という正統な称号を保持しており、これらの称号は1808年にフランツ2世皇帝によって一族全員に認められた。一族の当主は（1861年以降）オーストリア貴族院の世襲議員であった。

この一族は1541年に遡るロアン＝ゲメネ家の分家の子孫である。一族名はギエ＝シュル＝セーヌ（オーブ県）の町に由来する。

ピエール2世・ド・ロアン＝ジエ（†1525）は1517年に長男の相続人アンヌ・ド・ロアン（1485–1529）と結婚し、この結婚によりロアン子爵、レオン領主、ポルホエ伯爵となった。彼の息子ルネ・ド・ロアン＝ジエ（1516–1552）は1534年にイザボー・ド・アルブレ、別名イザボー・ド・ナヴァール（1512–1570）と結婚し、フランスのプロテスタント派の指導者であるロアン子爵兼レオン領主ルネ2世（†1586）の父となった。 ^{[ 2 ]}

ロアン＝ゲ＝ド＝リル支店

ロアン＝ゲ＝ド＝リル家は、ロアン子爵アラン6世（1232年～1304年）とその2番目の妻トマス・ド・ラ・ロッシュ＝ベルナール（1245年頃～1304年以降）の子孫（1270年頃）とされる分家である。その名は、サン＝テティエンヌ＝デュ＝ゲ＝ド＝リル（コート＝ダルモール県）の領地に由来する。

その系統は1530年頃に途絶えた。

ローハン＝ポルドゥク支社

ロアン＝プルデュとも呼ばれるこのあまり知られていない一族は、ロアン＝ゲ＝ド＝リル一族の分家であり、1500年頃に出現した。ポンティヴィ（現在のサン＝ジャン＝ブレヴレー）近郊のプルデュ荘園にちなんで名付けられた。最も有名な一族は、1775年から1797年まで聖ヨハネ騎士団の最高司令官を務めたエマニュエル・ド・ロアン＝ポルデュックである。

ローハン・シャボット家

ロアン＝シャボ家は、ポワトゥー地方のシャボ家の最古の分家です。ロアン家の母系に連なる家系で、 1645年にマルグリット・ド・ロアン（1617年 - 1684年）（ロアン公アンリ2世の唯一の娘で相続人）と、シャボ・ド・ジャルナック家の最古の分家出身のアンリ・シャボ（1616年 - 1655年）が結婚したことに由来します。アンリ・シャボは1648年にルイ14世によってロアン公に叙せられ、その子孫はロアン＝シャボという姓を名乗っています。

著名なメンバー

ロアン＝ゲメネ家の一族数名が、当時オーストリア帝国領だった北ボヘミアのシフロフ城に移住し、帰化しました。この分家が1846年に断絶した後、ロアン＝ロシュフォール家の分家の王子たちがボヘミアの領地を相続しましたが、1945年にベネシュ勅令により剥奪されました。彼らはまた、殿下、ロアン公、ゲメネ公、ロシュフォール公、神聖ローマ帝国公（1919年まではオーストリア領）、ロアン＝ロアン公、フランス貴族の称号を伴うモンバゾン公、ブイヨン公の称号も相続しました。

フェルディナン・ド・ロアン＝ゲメネ（1738年11月7日、パリ生まれ - 1813年10月31日、パリ没）は、ロアン＝ゲメネ公であり、1769年にボルドー大司教、1781年にカンブレー大司教、 1790年にリエージュ大司教に就任した。19世紀初頭には、皇后ジョゼフィーヌの第一施政官を務めた。

武器

ロアン家の紋章にあるマスクルとは、オルドビス紀の片岩に発達するキアストライト（アンダルサイト）の大きな結晶である双晶のことです。これらはほぼ正方形の断面を持つ柱状です。何世紀にもわたって「マスクル」と呼ばれてきたこれらの石は、ロアン宮殿に豊富に存在し、その美しさと菱形との類似性に心を奪われたロアン子爵は、紋章に7つのマスクルを描きました。子孫は16世紀半ばにさらに2つを追加しました。^[¹⁰⁰^]

1216年から1222年の間にジェフリー・オブ・ローアンが使用した紋章：赤地に金色のマス目 7つ、3、3、1。

現代の武器

1552年から1575年の間にロアン伯アンリ1世によって使用された。古い紋章から現代の紋章への変更は、14世紀以降の盾の形状の変化によって説明できる。盾の基部は尖っておらず平らになり、空いたスペースには2つの新しいマスクルが配置されている。

モットー

A plus :戦いの叫びで、「これ以上ない」、つまり、上を行く者がいないという意味で、ロハン家が公爵家に次ぐブルトンの貴族家として2番目に重要な家系であるという主張を思い出させる、あるいは「さらに上を行く」という意味で、常に自分たちを超えるよう促すものかもしれない^{[ 101 ]}は、アラン 9 世の個人的なモットーであり、しばしば一族全体に帰せられる。紋章のマスクルに添えられた公爵冠を戴いた文字 A で象徴される。^[¹⁰²^]

もう一つの、クシー家のモットーを模範とした偽りのモットーが、しばしばロアン家に帰せられる。「公爵にはならない、王にはならない、ブルターニュの王子、ロアンの王子である」（Duc je ne daigne, Roi je ne puis, Prince de Bretaigne, de Rohan je suis）または、より一般的には「王にはならない、公爵にはならない、ロアンの王子である」（Roi ne puis, duc ne daigne, Rohan suis）である。^[¹⁰³^]ロラン・バルトはこのモデルをジョークに用いる。^[¹⁰⁴^]すると、すべての作家はこう言うだろう。「狂人だからできない、正気だからしない、神経症だ」。

もう一つのモットーは「汚れるよりは死んだ方がまし」（ラテン語：Potius mori quam foedari）で、これはかつてのブルターニュ公爵家のモットーであり、ロアン家は1532年にブルターニュとフランスの間で締結された永久連合条約以来、彼らの推定相続人となっている。
