概要
1918 年 1 月、航空飛行隊の新しい番号体系が設定されました。1 から 399 は航空サービス飛行隊 (AS) 用です。400 から 599 は航空建設飛行隊 (ACS)、600 から 799 は航空補給飛行隊、800 から 1099 は航空修理飛行隊です。重要でない支援飛行隊は記載されていません。
米国のさまざまな飛行場における学校飛行隊の番号指定は 1918 年 7 月に廃止され、文字指定に置き換えられました。たとえば、第 2 航空飛行隊はケリー フィールドの A 飛行隊になりました。1918 年 11 月、各飛行場の文字指定飛行隊の人員は、その飛行場の単一の飛行学校派遣隊に統合されました。
