ロサンゼルスメトロバスは、ロサンゼルス郡都市圏交通局（メトロ）が運営するカリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス郡の公共交通バスサービスです。2023年の乗客数は2億2,291万9,700人で、2024年第2四半期時点で平日1日あたり約75万6,700人となっています。[注 1]
2023年6月現在[update]、システムには117の路線があります（メトロバスウェイの路線を除く）。ロサンゼルスメトロバスは、2019年時点で2,320台のバスを保有しており、北米で3番目に大きな車両群を誇っています[update]。[3]メトロバスの路線の大部分はメトロが直接運営しており、一部のサービスは民間請負業者が運営しています。[4]
歴史
メトロバスのブランドは、1993 年のメトロ設立にまで遡りますが、システム内の多くの路線は、以前の南カリフォルニア高速交通局(RTD) のバス路線や、パシフィック・エレクトリック・レッド・カーズやロサンゼルス鉄道イエロー・カーズが運営する路面電車の路線とほとんど変わっていません。
2003年から、メトロはバスネットワークを3つの異なるブランドで運営してきました。オレンジ色のメトロローカルバスは従来のルート、赤色のメトロラピッドバスは停車駅が限られているルート、青色のメトロエクスプレスバスは地域の広大な高速道路ネットワークに沿った最小限の停車サービスです。メトロのNextGenバス計画の一環として、2020年にこれらの個別のブランドは廃止されました。この計画は、機関のルートの大規模な再編であり、メトロラピッドルートのほとんどが廃止され、以前のメトロローカルルートのより頻繁なサービスが優先され、停車駅が少なくなりました。
ルート
メトロバスには、提供されるサービスの種類を示す路線番号が付けられています。この方法は、メトロの前身である南カリフォルニア高速交通局によって考案されました。
- 100未満の路線はロサンゼルスのダウンタウンを発着するローカル路線です。
- 100番台の路線は他の地域の東西路線です
- 200番台の路線は他の地域の南北路線です
- 300番台は停車駅が限られている路線です
- 400番台の路線はロサンゼルスのダウンタウンを行き来する高速道路の急行路線です。
- 500番台の路線は他の地域の高速道路の急行路線です
- 600番台の路線はシャトル/循環路線です
- 700番台の路線は停車駅の少ない快速路線です。
- 800 番台の路線番号は、メトロ鉄道の路線や、運休中の鉄道サービスの補助シャトルを指定するために使用されます。
- 900 番台の路線はメトロバスウェイの路線です。
1-99 (ロサンゼルスダウンタウン発着のローカル路線)
ロサンゼルスのダウンタウンと他の地域を結ぶローカルバスサービス。路線番号は 2 番線 (サンセット ブルバード、USC から西に向かう路線) から始まり、ロサンゼルスのダウンタウンを反時計回りに進み、96 番線 (リバーサイド ドライブ) で終わります。
100番台（その他の地域のローカル東西ルート）
東西サービス。必ずしもロサンゼルスのダウンタウンにサービスを提供するわけではありません。
200番台（その他の地域の南北ローカル路線）
南北方向のサービスですが、ロサンゼルスのダウンタウンでは運行していません。
300番台（停車駅限定路線）
400番台（ロサンゼルスのダウンタウンへの高速道路の急行ルート）
500番台（その他の地域の高速道路の急行路線）
600番台（シャトル/サーキュレーター）
1 つまたは 2 つの隣接地区内のシャトル、特別ルート、ローカル サービス。
