以下は、 2001年から2013年にかけて米国司法省と製薬会社の間で成立した和解金上位20件を、和解金総額の大きい順に並べたものです。和解金には、民事（虚偽請求法）和解金と刑事罰金の両方が含まれます。グラクソの30億ドルの和解金には、記録上最大の民事虚偽請求法和解金が含まれており^{[ 1 ]}、ファイザーの23億ドル（2022年換算で35億ドル）の和解金には、記録的な13億ドルの刑事罰金が含まれています^{[ 2 ]} 。製薬業界に対する法的請求は、過去20年間でメディケアおよびメディケイド詐欺、適応外使用促進、不適切な製造慣行など、多岐にわたります^{[ 3 ]}^{[ 4 ]} 。特に適応外使用促進に関しては、連邦裁判所がFranklin v.
