ソンマ茶園

スンマ茶園は、インドの西ベンガル州ダージリン県ダージリン・サダル郡ジョレバングロー・スキアポクリ CDブロックにある、サンマル茶園（スンマ）とタルズン茶園の2つの村にまたがっています。

語源

チベット語の方言では、「サンガマル」はキノコが自生して豊富に生える場所を意味し、「タルズム」は週に一度の村の市場がある場所を意味します。^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 2 ]}

歴史

ソンマ茶園は、1863年から1868年の間にイギリスの茶園主によって設立されました。タルズム茶園も1860年代に設立されました。1934年の壊滅的な地震により、ソンマの製茶工場は破壊されました。その後、2つの茶園は合併し、製造業務全体がタルズンに移されました。^{[ 3 ]}^{[ 4 ]}^{[ 5 ]}

庭園の所有権に関する情報は多少異なっている。Jay Shree Teaのサイトによると、Jay Shree Teaは1993年に庭園を引き継いだという。^{[ 3 ]}他の情報源によると、Jhunjhunwalaが1950年代後半に庭園を引き継いだという。1950年代半ばにJindalsが庭園を引き継ぎ、1993年にJay Shree Teaが庭園を引き継いだという。^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 4 ]}

2011年のインド国勢調査によると、タルズン茶園の総人口は2,232人で、そのうち1,098人（49%）が男性、1,134人（51%）が女性でした。0歳から6歳までの年齢層は170人でした。タルズン茶園の識字人口は1,774人（6歳以上の人口の79.48%）でした。^{[ 9 ]}

1945年に設立されたJay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd.は、BKBirlaグループの一員です。インドと東アフリカに22の茶園を所有しています。Jay Shree Teaのダージリンにある茶園は、Puttabong、North Tukvar、Rishihat、Singbuli、Balasun、Sungmaです。^{[ 10 ]}
