再発見される前に公開されていなかった映画の場合、制作された年が記されます。年もイタリック体で表記されます。

映画は年順にリストされ、その後、1 年内ではアルファベット順に並べられます。

無声映画

無声映画時代の映画の多くは失われている。^[1]アメリカ議会図書館は、無声映画の75%が永久に失われたと推定している。約10,919本のアメリカの無声映画が製作されたが、そのうち2,749本だけが、オリジナルのアメリカ製35mm版、海外版、または低品質のコピーとして、何らかの形で完全版として現存している。^[2]

セルゲイ・エイゼンシュテイン監督の『ベジン草原』 : 1937年にソビエト政府によって制作が中止され、第二次世界大戦で失われたと思われていたが、抜粋と部分的なプリントが発見され、35分間のスライドショーに使用された。
ドーソン・フィルム発見は、 1978年にクロンダイク・ゴールドラッシュの町ドーソン・シティで、無声映画時代の硝酸塩フィルム533巻に保存されていた372本の映画タイトルが偶然発見された事件である。
