HD 37519またはアンドリューの星は、北の星座ぎょしゃ座にある恒星です。青白色の色合いをしており、肉眼ではぼんやりと見え、見かけの視等級は 6.04 です。[2] HD 37519 までの距離は 視差に基づいて約 810光年ですが、視線速度-10 km/sで近づいてきています。 [5]
カウリーは1972年にこの恒星をB9.5III-IV(p)? (Hg?) という恒星分類に分け、 [3]これはB型進化 星で、化学的に特異な水銀マンガン型恒星ではないかと示唆している。[11]年齢は3億7500万年と推定され、自転速度は高く、195 km/sの予測回転速度を示している。 [9] 1964年3月、HD 37519のフレアと思われる現象が検出され、恒星の明るさが約3等級増加した。数日後には最大2等級の小さな変動が検出され、[12]フレア星の伴星が存在する可能性が示唆された。しかし、その後の観測では変動は確認されなかった。[13]この恒星は、有効温度8,289km/sで、光球から太陽の110倍[8]の明るさを放射している。 [8]
