UAAPシーズン88

UAAPシーズン88は、フィリピン大学体育協会（UAAP）の2025-26シーズンでした。サント・トーマス大学（UST）が「動きの中の力、行動の中の希望」をテーマに開催しました。^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 2 ]}開会式は2025年9月19日に行われました。^{[ 3 ]}

2025年の東南アジア競技大会に参加する学生アスリートの都合に合わせて、柔道やテコンドーなど複数の競技が日程変更され、開始時期が早まったり、後期の日程に移行したりした。リーグはまた、野球の男子部門を復活させ、テニスの男子トーナメントを初開催するなど、イベントの種類を拡大した。^{[ 4 ]}

シーズン87でデモンストレーション競技としてデビューした後、ラピッドチェスはカレンダーから削除され、ブリッツチェスが通常の競技として昇格しました。これは、シーズン82の3x3バスケットボール以来、総合チャンピオンシップの集計に貢献する競技であることを意味します。

同リーグは、テコンドー大会のデモンストレーション競技として女子キョルギと高校プムセを導入し、大学部門ではゴルフが初めてデモンストレーション競技としてデビューした。^{[ 5 ]}今シーズンは複数の新イベントが導入されたほか、UAAPは閉会式とは独立した単独イベントとしてストリートダンスを復活させ、4,515人の観客を集めた。 ^{[ 6 ]}

今シーズンは、大学部門のメダル競技種目が31種目から33種目に、高校部門が24種目から27種目に正式に拡大されたほか、大学部門に新たな特別競技が1種目、高校部門にデモンストレーション競技が3種目追加された。

開会式

UAAPシーズン88の開会式は、 2025年9月19日にマニラ市サンパロックのエスパニャにあるサント・トーマス大学メインキャンパスで開催され、36,629人の観客が参加した。^[⁷^]

この式典は、大学独自のトレードマークであるパスクハン・イベントに対抗することを目的としており、翌日クアドリセンテニアル・パビリオンで開催されるバスケットボール・トーナメントの開幕戦とは独立して単独で行われた。この構成は、USTが前回ホストを務めた2016年のシーズン79で実施された。^{[ 8 ]}

オリンピック陸上競技のEJ Obiena、バレーボールのSisi Rondina、バスケットボールのJervy Cruz、柔道のSydney Syなど、同校のUAAP卒業生による象徴的な聖火台の点火がイベントのオープニングとなり、続いて8つの大学すべてが学生アスリートを伴ってパレードを行った。 ^{[ 9 ]}^{[ 10 ]}また、同大学の音楽家卒業生であるKean CiprianoやSarah Geronimoも、 Rob Deniel、Earl Agustin、Lola Amourがヘッドライナーを務めたクロージングコンサートの前に演奏した。^{[ 11 ]}

これらの式典は、シーズン87でフィリピン大学が主催した、映画『イレイザーヘッズ』の横断幕を掲げた開会式に続くものである。

放送

これはUAAPとCignal TVの放送提携の5シーズン連続であり、現在の5年契約の最後のシーズンとなる。2025年6月30日、両者は契約更新に合意し、Cignalの放送権を2030-31シーズンの第93シーズンまでさらに5年間延長した。^{[ 12 ]}

今シーズン初めて、バドミントンの予選ラウンドの一部の団体戦がPilipinas Liveで配信された。さらに、卓球の決勝団体戦も 2023年以来初めて配信された。

フットボール

UAAP女子大学フットボール選手権は2025年9月20日に開幕し、男子大学フットボール選手権は2025年9月21日に開幕する。開幕週はアヤラ・ベルモサ・スポーツハブで試合が行われ、残りの試合はUPディリマン・フットボールスタジアムで開催される。

今シーズンの異例の措置として、リーグは10月まで予選第1ラウンドを行い、第2ラウンドは11月まで継続し、翌年1月に再開して2025年東南アジア競技大会と2025年FIFA女子フットサルワールドカップの代表チームに道を譲る。^{[ 14 ]}^{[ 15 ]}

陸上競技

UAAP陸上競技選手権大会は、2025年11月6日から9日まで、タルラック州カパスにあるニュークラークシティ陸上競技場で開催されました。

当初11月10日まで開催される予定だった大会は、超大型台風ウワンの影響により、3日目と4日目の日程が短縮され、5日目の競技が4日目に前倒しされた。また、すべてのトラック競技の予選が決勝を兼ねることになった。

ランキングは、総合選手権と同様のポイントシステムによって決定されます。ポイントは、予選上位8名のみが出場する決勝での選手/チームの成績に基づいて付与されます。金メダリストには15ポイント、銀メダリストには12ポイント、銅メダリストには10ポイントが与えられます。残りの選手/チームには、順位に応じて8、6、4、2、1ポイントが与えられます。
