スパイダーマンコレクション

マーベルコミックのキャラクター、スパイダーマンは1962年にアメイジングファンタジー第15号で初めて登場しました。作者のスタン・リーは、このアイデアは「十代の若者が共感できるキャラクターを作りたいという願望」から生まれたと述べています。^[1]

このキャラクターのさまざまな登場は、何千ものトレードペーパーバック、ハードカバー、オムニバスコレクションにまとめられています。

スパイダーマンの中心的なタイトルは、1963年の創刊以来『アメイジング・スパイダーマン』である。 1月に第1号が発売されて以来、この本は毎月発行されている。 ^[2]

マーベルがコアタイトルを年代順に収集する最初の試みは、1987年にマーベルマスターワークスプレミアムハードカバーラインで、1冊あたり10〜12のコミックを再版したものです。^{[3] [4]}

次の試みは、白黒でコミックを再現したエッセンシャル・マーベル・ラインでした。これらの本は1996年から2013年まで発売され、その後フルカラーのエピック・コレクションに置き換えられました。^[5]

この2つのシリーズ以外にも、多くの号がまとめて再出版されています。

作者のスタン・リーは、最初はスティーブ・ディッコと、その後はジョン・ロミタ・シニアと共同でスパイダーマンの最初の110号を執筆し、その後ジェリー・コンウェイに交代した。当時19歳だったコンウェイは、「グウェン・ステイシーが死んだ夜」や「ゴブリンの最後の抵抗」など、「その時代で最も大胆な物語のいくつか」を執筆した。^[6]

1990年代半ばまでに、スパイダーマンは「キャラクター史上最悪の時代」の真っ只中にあった。^[7]クローン・サーガは「アメイジング・スパイダーマン、ピーター・パーカー、スペクタキュラー・スパイダーマン、スパイダーマン、ウェブ・オブ・スパイダーマン、スパイダーマン・アンリミテッドの5つのタイトルが関係するクロスオーバー・イベントだった。また、巨大サイズの本、ワンショットなどが含まれていたため、ほとんどの読者はストーリーを追うことができなかった。」^[8]

このストーリーラインは2年間にわたって複数のタイトルで展開され、ベン・ライリーがピーター・パーカーに代わって主役を務めた。

第 1 巻の全巻が、マーベルのエピック コレクションラインを通じて再版されます。

1998年11月にリニューアルオープン（表紙の日付は1999年1月）した後、『アメイジング・スパイダーマン』第2巻は、J・マイケル・ストラジンスキーの6年間（2001-2007年）とダン・スロットの10年間（2008-2018年）が中心となっていました。^[9]

「ワン・モア・デイ」のストーリーではピーター・パーカーがメアリー・ジェーンを失うところから始まり、その後月3回の「ブラン・ニュー・デイ」が再開される。方向性の変更に対する批判にもかかわらず、脚本家のスロットは「ネット上では20年間の連続性が消えたと言っているファンがたくさんいる。しかし、それは全く違う。これは『クライシス』でもリブートでもない」と語っている。^[10]

2013年に、脚本家のダン・スロット、アーティストのライアン・ステグマン、ウンベルト・ラモス、ジュゼッペ・カムンコリの協力で『スペリオル・スパイダーマン』がスタートした。ピーター・パーカーの死んだと思われたが、オットー・オクタビウス（別名ドクター・オクトパス）の精神がパーカーの体を乗っ取った。 ^[11]

スーパー スパイダーマンの完結に続いて、アメイジング スパイダーマンが新たな No.1 とピーター パーカーを主役として再始動しました。ダン スロットは引き続きライターを務め、これまでのことを覆すつもりはないと強調しました。「もし J. ジョナ ジェイムソンがビューグルにいて、ピーター パーカーが写真を撮って生計を立てていて、メイおばさんが病院にいる​​世界で目覚めたとしたら、私は自分を撃ち殺すでしょう」と彼は Comic Book Resources に語りました。「これはピーター パーカー、スパイダーマンの進行中の物語です。彼の人生は前進します。」

マーベル・コミックは2015年に全ラインをリニューアルし、「まったく新しく、まったく違う」ものを提供した。ダン・スロットはスパイダーマンのライターとして留まったが、ピーター・パーカーのために新しいスーツと新しいグローバル企業を約束した。彼はMTVにこう語った。「ピーター・パーカーはステップアップしました。彼は成長しました。彼は私たちがずっと望んでいたピーター・パーカーになりました。この会社はピーターの発明とピーターの勇気で新たな高みに到達しました。」^[13]

ダン・スロットが『スパイダーマン』を手掛けた後、シリーズは2018年にニック・スペンサーを脚本家、ライアン・オトリーを作画監督として再開された。

スペンサーは「私がやろうとしていることの多くは、ファンや読者が認識するであろう物語の非常に古典的で典型的な要素とピーターを再び結びつけることです。キャラクターを基本に戻すのはエキサイティングです」と述べた。彼はこの本が「楽しくて、面白くて、人間味のあるキャラクター主導の物語」を提供するだろうと付け加えた。^[14]

スパイダーマンは2022年にゼブ・ウェルズとジョン・ロミタ・ジュニアの出演でリニューアルされた。マーベルは「ウェルズとロミタ・ジュニアの出演は、ファンが愛する古典的な要素をすべて取り入れるとともに、スパイダーマンの悪役ギャラリーからの古典的なスーパーヴィランの驚くべき新しい解釈をもたらすだろう」と述べた。^[16]

1987 年に創刊された『マーベル マスターワークス』は、マーベル コミックがキャラクターの初登場から始まるシリーズをフルカラーで再出版する最初の試みでした。

2021年、マーベルは「かつては高額だったこのラインのより手頃な価格のバージョン」としてマスターワークスの本の新バージョンを発売しました。^[18]これらのペーパーバックは6×9インチのダイジェスト版のサイズです。

2006年に始まったプレミアクラシックのハードカバーシリーズは「マーベルの50年の歴史から厳選されたストーリーラインをまとめた」ものだった。^[19] 2012年に107巻で打ち切られた。

マーベルのギャラリーエディションは、コミックの量よりも印刷されたページのサイズを重視した大判のハードカバーです。（つまり）高さ13インチ/33cm、幅9.3インチ/24cmです。^[20]

マーベルは2013年にエピックコレクションのコミックコレクションシリーズを立ち上げた。マーベルのセールス担当上級副社長デビッド・ガブリエルは、このシリーズは「私たちが維持できる最良の価格で、大きくて分厚いカラーコレクションを提供すること」を意図していたと語った。^[21]

本は順序どおりに出版されないことが多いが、ガブリエル氏はこう付け加えた。「結局のところ、Epic の巻は読者の本棚にシームレスに並んで収まり、各タイトルの完全で途切れのないシリーズが提供されることになります。」

最初にリリースされたスパイダーマンエピックは、第 20 巻「コズミック アドベンチャー」です。

マーベルのモダン エラ エピック コレクションのリリースの一部は、デアデビルなどのキャラクターの場合、1998 年以来のものですが、スパイダーマンの時代は J. マイケル ストラジンスキーの執筆から始まります。

Coming Home は、2001 年 4 月に発売され、2001 年 6 月に表紙が掲載された Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2)で始まりました。

1996年から発行されていたエッセンシャル・マーベルは、白黒のペーパーバック形式で再版された。2013年に廃刊となり、エピック・コレクションに置き換えられた。^[22]

「フレンドリー・ネイバーフッド・スパイダーマン」は当初ピーター・デイビッドによって書かれ、2005 年 12 月から 2007 年 11 月までの 2 年間連載されました。

第2巻は2019年3月にトム・テイラーの執筆で再出版され、2020年2月まで14号にわたって発行された。テイラーはマーベルのウェブサイトで次のように語っている。「ピーターの人間性と優しさは決して隠されていません。彼は地上であろうと空を飛んでいようと、誰に対しても正しいことをしたいと思っています。」

「私はいつもピーター・パーカーが最も共感できるときが大好きです。確かに彼は世界を救う男ですが、それでもハウスメイトと一緒に家賃を払うのに苦労しています。それがこのシリーズの核心です。」^[23]

マーベルナイツスパイダーマンは2004年に発売されましたが、第23号からセンセーショナルスパイダーマン（第2巻）

マーベルプラチナシリーズは、Panini UK によって制作され、毎月異なるマーベルのスーパーヒーローに焦点を当てています。その目的は、主に新しい読者を対象とした一連の「決定的な」ストーリーを再現することでした。

マーベル チームアップは1972 年に開始され、1985 年まで放送されました。これはスパイダーマンの最初の主要な継続スピンオフ シリーズでした。

Marvel Team-Up (vol. 2) ran for 11 issues from 1997–98; however, none of it has been collected. Marvel Team-Up (vol. 3) launched in 2005 and lasted 25 issues. It was written by Robert Kirkman while he was also writing Marvel Zombies, The Walking Dead and Invincible. Issue #14 saw Marvel Comics' Spider-Man meet Image Comics' Invincible.^[24]

The Sensational Spider-Man ran from 1996 to 1998, with almost all issues crossing over with the other core titles as part of the Clone Saga.

The first volume of The Spectacular Spider-Man in 1968 was a black and white magazine that only lasted two issues.

Eight years later, it was relaunched as a companion comic to the main Amazing Spider-Man series and retitled Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man. After 134 issues, Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man was retitled The Spectacular Spider-Man (vol. 2), though it kept its numbering.

The series ran for 22 years and 264 monthly issues, making it the second longest-running title behind the main title.^[25]

As well as those below, many issues are collected in crossover books. Between the five Complete Clone Saga Epic Collections and the six Complete Ben Reilly Epic Collections, everything from issue #217–241 is collected.

Spectacular Spider-Man (vol. 3) ran for 27 issues from September 2003 to June 2005.

Writer Chip Zdarsky launched Spectacular Spider-Man (vol. 4) in 2017. After six issues, the legacy numbering resumed at issue #297.^[26] The series ended with issue #313.

This series launched in 2024, with Greg Wiseman as writer. It promised: "Peter Parker and Miles Morales are going to team up on the regular, comparing notes and using said notes to take on some of their most dangerous bad guys".^[27]

The adjectiveless Spider-Man comic was initially launched in 1990 as a way for Todd McFarlane to take on his own book. McFarlane wrote and illustrated 15 of the first 16 issues before leaving to launch his own company, Image Comics. Many of the later issues crossed over with the other Spider-Man books.

After 98 issues, the adjectiveless Spider-Man series was relaunched as Peter Parker: Spider-Man (vol. 2). At first it was a continuation of the previous book - but with issue #20, an all-British creative team, Paul Jenkins and Mark Buckingham, took over.

A new adjectiveless Spider-Man series launched in 2022 to mark the character's 60th anniversary. The book was written by Dan Slott, with art from Mark Bagley. It was pitched as the pair "teaming up for the first time on Spidey to unleash the full potential of the Spider-Verse."^[28]

After 11 issues, the series relaunched as Spider-Boy.

The second volume of Superior Spider-Man is a core title that continued legacy numbering from Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2) and was launched in December 2018, with a cover date of February 2019. It ran for 12 issues and 10 months.^[29]

Marvel pitched a third volume as: "The spider-team that redefined the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN returns to celebrate the TEN-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the most monumental and shocking Spidey story in a generation!".^[30] This meant Dan Slott was returning to write Spider-Man after his 10-year run on the core title. No issues were solicited after #8.

The first volume of Web of Spider-Man ran for 129 issues from 1985 to 1995. Many of the issues are collected in crossover books.

The second volume ran for 12 issues from 2009 to 2010. Issues #1–7 are included with The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt main title crossovers.

Marvel pitched Marvel Age Spider-Man and Marvel Adventures Spider-Man as: "The perfect line to introduce new readers to the Marvel Universe. Marvel Adventures books harken back to the classic tales of the Marvel Universe - free from years of continuity - and fuses them with an unmistakably modern style and wit."^[31]

Twenty issues came out under the Marvel Age title before it was retitled Marvel Adventures. Collected books were released in a smaller digest format.

Miles Morales is a half-Black, half-Hispanic teenager and was created by Brian Michael Bendis. The character first appeared in Ultimate Comics: Fallout #4.^[32]

Bendis told USA Today that he was inspired in part by Donald Glover's appearance in the TV series Community dressed as Spider-Man. Bendis said: "[Glover] looked fantastic! I saw him in the costume and thought, 'I would like to read that book.' So I was glad I was writing that book."^[33]

Saladin Ahmed started writing the series from 2018.

Cody Ziglar was the new writer from December 2022.

Spider-Man 2099 is a superhero created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi in 1992 for the Marvel 2099 line. The character is a futuristic re-imagining of the original Spider-Man, whose secret identity is Miguel O'Hara.^[34]

Despite a new volume number, the trade paperback numbering continues from before.

In this "romantic-comedy manga", a youthful Mary Jane navigates high school in a world dominated by Spider-Man and his supervillains.^[35] Sean McKeever wrote the first two Mary Jane miniseries, as well as all 20 issues of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane.

Launched in 2000, Ultimate Spider-Man offered a "new and modern version of Peter Parker, a young and inexperienced Spider-Man".^[36] "In the throes of bankruptcy, Marvel needed a hit, and "Ultimate Spider-Man" was just that hit."

In 2011, writer Brian Michael Bendis told Comic Book Resources: "The Ultimate Universe was originally supposed to be this ground-level look at Marvel characters. We did that."^[37]

Launching in January 2024 and written by Jonathan Hickman, "Ultimate Spider-Man introduces a Peter Parker unlike any seen before, being in his thirties with a wife and kids, and facing different concerns."^[38]
