プーチー（Poo-Chi 、またはPoochiまたはPoochieとも表記）は、ロボットペット玩具の第一世代の一つで、サミュエル・ジェームズ・ロイドとマット・ルーカスによって設計され、セガ玩具によって製造され、タイガー玩具によって販売されたロボット犬です。[ 1 ] プーチーは2000年に発売され、2002年に販売終了となりました。
セガトイズのプーチーは2000年4月1日に発売され、日本と韓国を除くすべての国でハズブロのタイガーエレクトロニクスが販売し、日本と韓国ではセガトイズから直接販売された。日本では3,980円（当時38米ドル相当）、米国では24.99ドルで販売された。AIBOのように8歳以上の年長の子供ではなく、幼い子供向けに作られたにもかかわらず、プーチーは最大25万円（当時2,400米ドル）のAIBOの価格に対して大幅に安価な競争を提供した。[ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ]当時、ハズブロの主力ファービーシリーズの売上は1998年の発売以来鈍化しており、スターウォーズブランドの商品の売上は減少していた。[ 5 ]プーチの発売は成功し、発売から8ヶ月で全世界で1000万台以上を売り上げた。[ 4 ]
プーチーの特別版がすぐに登場し、例えば、102匹わんちゃんのホリデーリリースでは、ドミノ、リトルディッパー、オッドボールのキャラクターに似た3匹のプーチーが発売された。[ 4 ] [ 6 ]特別版に加えて、アップグレード版のスーパープーチー[ 7 ]や、さまざまな品種のプーチー（すべて相互に通信可能）が発売され、ミャウチーやチャーピーチーなどのスピンオフも登場した。[ 4 ]ミニチュア版はマクドナルドのハッピーミールのおもちゃとして登場した。[ 8 ]
プーチーは2002年に販売終了となり、ファーリアル・フレンズに取って代わられた。
2011年、セガトイズはゲーム「ワッピー・ドッグ」に合わせて、プーチーの新たなバージョンを発売した。
The original Poo-Chi had a gray body with ears, tail, and leg joints of either purple, blue, pink or green colour. With four legs allowing the toy to stand up or lie down, it utilized a red LED display as eyes to show emotion.[9][10] The toy could additionally respond to voice commands.[11]
The Christmas Special Edition Poo-Chi was offered for a limited time, coloured in red and white with snowflake designs throughout the body, ears, with an interactive bone included in its seasonal box. The toy had its list of songs updated to include Christmas music. The Christmas Special Edition was only available in a handful of countries and retailed for 2–3 months, making it the rarest and most collectible of the genre with collectors. There are two known variations of the Christmas ones, 1 version sings the 6 songs that standard non-special edition Poo-Chis play, while the other version plays Christmas songs. There were also two known Japanese Christmas versions being slightly different color from one another and coming with a Christmas hat and scarf.
Poo-Chi spoke using prerecorded sounds such as barks, whines, and growls.[11] Due to limitations of the toy's technology, most of the sounds were rendered as beeps rather than a realistic sound effect. Poo-Chi could also "bark" songs, which could be prompted by pressing the button on the top of its head.
Multiple spin-offs of the Poo-Chi were produced. All were based on different animals, other than the Super Poo-Chi, a larger version of the original toy.
The Poo-Chi could "sing" one of 6 songs when following the light sensor in its nose being activated, the touch sensor on its head was pressed. The toy would then emit a series of high-pitched beeps. The user could afterwards press the touch sensor, the number of times the sensor having been pressed corresponding to a different tune. The different songs the Poo-Chi could play are as follows:
プーチーは幸せな時によくルートヴィヒ・ヴァン・ベートーヴェンの「歓喜の歌」を歌い、[ 11 ]近くに別のプーチーやロボチーのペット（ミャウチーなど）がいると、その別のロボチーも「歓喜の歌」を歌い始めますが、再生は同期しません。
