テレビ・ラジオ産業クラブ（ TRICとして広く知られている）は、1931年に「テレビ・ラジオ産業の親善を促進する」ために設立された英国の機関である。クラブは毎年、テレビとラジオにおける功績を称える年次表彰式を開催している。[1]
会員は、番組制作者や放送局からラジオ制作者やメーカーまで、通信、エンターテイメント、製造、保証保険、サービス部門から構成されています。
TRIC会長
TRIC 会長職は名誉職であり、通常は 1 年の任期が定められています。設立後数十年間、TRIC 会長は主にテレビ/ラジオ業界のパイオニアや政界から選出されていました。1970 年代は変化の兆しとなり、放送業界の幹部が多数任命される時期となりました。1990 年代には、大衆娯楽界からの任命という別の変化がありました。著名な会長には、ロバート・マクスウェル、マイケル・グレード、ボブ・モンクハウス、バーナード・インガム、トニー・ハドリーなどがいます[2] [3]

TRIC賞は毎年授与されており、2019年以降はさまざまなカテゴリー内で事前に決められた候補者リストから一般投票によって受賞者が決定されています。[4]
授賞式は伝統的にロンドンのグロブナーハウスホテルで行われており、1969年4月に第1回授賞昼食会が同ホテルで開催され、ヴァル・ドゥーニカン、ケネス・ホーン、ザ・フォーサイト・サーガの3作品が受賞した。[5] 2021年は、 COVID-19による制限のため、例年3月に行われる授賞式ではなく9月に、トラファルガー広場近くのノーサンバーランド・アベニュー8番地でライブストリーム付きで授賞式が開催された。[6]
1992年以来、TRIC会長が授賞式の司会を務めるのは名誉なことであり、最近の例外としては、ビル・ターンブルが産休中のシアン・ウィリアムズに代わって司会を務めた2009年と、ローマン・ケンプが当時の会長ジョン・バロウマンに代わって司会を務めた2021年がある。[6]
20世紀の受賞者には、スポーツ司会者のデイビッド・コールマン[7]、ニュースキャスターのヤン・リーミング[8]、そして長年続いているラジオドラマ「アーチャーズ」 [9]などがいます。
