サイビルズ賞、または児童・若年成人向けブロガー文学賞は、児童・若年成人向けの本についてブログを書いている人々によって毎年授与される賞です。[1] 2006年にケリー・ヘロルドとアン・ボールズ・レヴィによって共同設立されたこの賞は、[2]エリート主義的すぎるとされる児童書賞と、十分に選別されていないと思われる他の賞との間の明らかなギャップを埋めるために創設されました。[3]
児童・若年層文学の10のジャンル（ブックアプリ、読みやすい本と短編小説、ファンタジーとSF 、フィクション絵本、グラフィックノベル、中級小説、ノンフィクション中級・若年層書籍、ノンフィクション絵本、詩、若年層小説）で一般からノミネートされた本が選ばれます。ノミネートされた本は、各カテゴリーの受賞者が発表される前に、パネルによる2回の審査を受けます。最終候補者と受賞者は、文学的価値と子供へのアピール度に基づいて選ばれます。[4]
パネリストはボランティアであり、読者や愛好家として、あるいは作家、司書、書店員、教師、あるいは児童文学の世界に実証可能な投資を行っているその他の人物として、児童文学またはヤングアダルト文学に関する豊富な経験を持つアクティブなブロガーでなければなりません。
基準
- 誰でも、前年の 10 月 16 日からコンテスト開催年の 10 月 15 日までに出版された児童書またはヤングアダルト向けの本をノミネートできます。
- 本は英語で書かれていなければなりませんが、バイリンガルでも構いません。
- 1 人あたり、1 つのカテゴリーにつき 1 冊のみノミネートできます。
- ノミネートはコンテスト開催年の 10 月 1 日に開始され、10 月 15 日に終了します。
- 本は文学的価値と「子供の魅力」という賞の基準を満たすものでなければなりません。
