ハスケルは1936年にモンテカルロ・ロシア・バレエ団の広報担当兼記者として初めてオーストラリアを訪れ、 The Homeなどのオーストラリアの新聞や雑誌に記事やレビューを執筆し[ 6 ]、Dancing Timesなどの雑誌にイギリス本国へレポートを送った。1937年にロンドンで出版された彼の著書『Dancing Round The World』は、そのツアーでの彼の冒険を綴ったものである。
