2024年全アイルランドシニアサッカー選手権は、1887年の設立以来、ゲーリック・アスレチック・アソシエーションが主催する最高峰のインターカウンティ・ゲーリック・フットボール・トーナメントの第137回大会であった。アイルランドの32のカウンティのうち31が参加した。キルケニーは出場せず、ロンドンとニューヨークが出場した。^[1]

この選手権は3回目で2層制となり、サム・マグワイア・カップ大会への出場資格を得られない選手のための第2層大会としてテイルティーン・カップが開催された。^[2]

選手権の組み合わせ抽選は2023年10月21日に行われました。全アイルランド決勝は2024年7月28日にダブリンのクロークパークで行われ、アーマーとコノートチャンピオンのゴールウェイが対戦しました。^[3]アーマーは決勝でゴールウェイに1-11対0-13で勝利し、2度目の優勝を果たしました。^[4]

コノート、レンスター、マンスター、アルスターはそれぞれ州選手権を開催しています。州大会はすべてノックアウト方式です。

全アイルランド選手権ラウンドロビンに進出するチームは 16 チームです。

• 2023年 Tailteann Cup優勝者 ( Meath )
• 2024年ナショナルフットボールリーグの最終順位に基づく次の7チーム
  • 順位は昇格と降格が適用され、決勝戦が行われた後の順位に基づきます。したがって、ディビジョン 2 の上位 2 チームはディビジョン 1 の下位 2 チームよりも上位となり、ディビジョン 2 の 2 位チームが決勝戦で勝利した場合、そのチームは決勝戦で敗退した 1 位チームよりも上位となります。
  • ミースがレンスター決勝に進出した場合、リーグの順位に基づいて8番目のチームが選ばれる。

残りの17の郡チームは2024年のTailteann Cupに出場します。

全アイルランド選手権のラウンドロビンでは、16 チームが 4 チームずつ 4 つのグループに分けられます。各チームは同じグループ内の他のチームと 1 回対戦し、勝利で 2 ポイント、引き分けで 1 ポイントを獲得します。各チームはホームで 1 回、アウェーで 1 回、中立で 1 回対戦します。

各グループの上位3チームがノックアウトステージに進み、1位のチームは全アイルランド準々決勝に進み、2位と3位のチームは準々決勝に進む。^[5]

2位の4チームは、準々決勝で3位のチームと対戦します。準々決勝の勝者は、グループ優勝者と全アイルランド準々決勝に進出します。その後、準決勝2試合と決勝が行われます。すべての試合はノックアウト方式です。

全アイルランド シニア フットボール チャンピオンシップには 33 の郡が参加しました。コノート シニア フットボール チャンピオンシップには 7 チーム、レンスター シニア フットボール チャンピオンシップには 11 チーム、マンスター シニア フットボール チャンピオンシップには 6 チーム、アルスター シニア フットボール チャンピオンシップには 9 チームが参加しました。

全アイルランドグループステージの7つの出場枠は、以下に詳述するように、 2024年のナショナルフットボールリーグでの成績に基づいて割り当てられます。

• Sligo and Leitrim met in the Connacht Championship for the first time since 2011.
• Waterford beat Tipperary for the first time since 1988 and had their first win in the Munster SFC since 2010.^[10]
• Dublin and Offaly met in the Leinster championship for the first time since 2007.
• Clare appeared in consecutive Munster finals for the first time since 1936 and 1937.
• Ennis hosted the Munster SFC final for the first time since 1919.
• Louth appeared in consecutive Leinster finals for the first time since 1957 and 1958.
• Louth defeated Meath in the championship for the first time since 1975.^[11]
• Galway won the Connacht title third year running for the first time since 1982–84.
• Dublin won a 14th Leinster title in a row.
• Inniskeen hosted its first ever championship game.
• Louth reached the All-Ireland quarter-finals for the first time. (They had reached the semi-finals and final on previous occasions, but had not reached the quarter-finals since that stage was introduced in 2001.)
• Armagh reached the All-Ireland semi-finals for the first time since 2005, reached the All-Ireland final for the first time since 2003 and won the All-Ireland for the first time since 2002.
• Armagh wore black against Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final.^[12]
• Dublin failed to reach the All-Ireland semi-finals for the first time since 2009.
• Donegal reached the All-Ireland semi-finals for the first time since 2014.
• Derry played, and lost to, all four teams that reached the All-Ireland semi finals.
