Virgibacillus proomiiはグラム陽性細菌の一種です。この種の株はもともとイギリスの土壌サンプルから分離され、以前はBacillus pantothenticusの株として特定されていました。この種はイギリスの微生物学者Harold Proomにちなんで名付けられました。^[1]
