ナイジェリア下院の全360議席。; 過半数には181議席必要

2019年のナイジェリア下院選挙は、小選挙区制を用いて下院議員を選出する全360選挙区で実施された。ほとんどの選挙は2019年2月23日に実施され、一部の選挙は2月24日まで行われ、他の選挙では後日、補欠選挙または再選挙が行われた。全地区で最後に行われた通常下院選挙は2015年であった。

全進歩会議は、 2018年に離党により過半数を失いそうになった後、その多数派を固めた。APCは選挙前の状況と比較して、純増で21議席を獲得した。一方、最大野党の人民民主党は選挙前の状況と比較して純増で26議席を失い、小政党は合わせて6議席を失い、全進歩大同盟（9議席）とアフリカ民主会議（3議席）が最大の2つの小政党となった。

第9回ナイジェリア国会開会に伴い、フェミ・グバジャビアミラ（APC-スルールレI）が下院議長に選出され、アハメド・イドリス・ワセ（APC-ワセ）とアルハッサン・ドグワ^[d]（APC-トゥドゥン・ワダ/ドグワ）がそれぞれ下院副議長と下院多数党リーダーになった。^[2]^[3]グバジャビアミラは、 PDPがキングスレー・チンダ（PDP-オビオ/アクポール）を候補に指名したにもかかわらず、ンドゥディ・エルメル（ PDP-アニオチャ/オシミリ）を下院少数党リーダーに指名した。^[4]エルメルとグバジャビアミラによって少数党リーダーに指名された他のPDPメンバーはPDPから資格停止処分を受け、2021年2月に資格停止処分が解除され党の危機が終結した。^[5]

結果の要約と分析

2019年の総選挙前には、数十人の議員が元の政党から離党し、離党の波によりAPCがかろうじて議会の過半数を維持したため、2015年の就任式当日と比べて下院は大きく様変わりした。結果、党の予備選挙や総選挙でさらに数十人の議員が敗退し、総選挙では注目すべき議席の入れ替わりがあった。その中には、サラキ王朝と州PDPに反対するÓ Tó Gẹ́運動がPDPが保持していた5議席を圧勝したクワラ州での議員数名も含まれる。政治的ゴッドファーザー主義と政党変更に対するより認識された非難として、アクワ・イボム州北西部の上院議員ゴッドウィル・アクパビオ氏に従ってAPCに移った下院議員は全員敗退し、PDPに移ったカノ州下院議員の大半と、退任するカノ州中央部の上院議員ラビウ・クワンクワソ氏も議席を失った。その他の大きなニュースとしては、ラッパーのバンキー・W（MDP）がエティオサで敗北したものの、2つの投票所で勝利して約14％の得票率を獲得したこと、議長のヤクブ・ドガラ（PDP ^{[e] -ボゴロ/ダス/タファワ・バレワ）が自身の選挙区で}上院議長として再選され、同じくAPCからPDPに離党したブコラ・サラキが上院議員選挙区で敗北したこと、長年の下院議員で少数党院内総務のオゴール・オクウェがイソコ南部/イソコ北部選挙区で僅差で再選されたこと、およびAPGAが南東部でいくつかの議席を獲得したことなどが挙げられる。^[6]^[7]

ナイジェリアの選挙後によくあることだが、下院選挙の後には訴訟が相次ぎ、裁判所や審判所の決定により約24の選挙区の結果が変わったほか、13の判決で選挙が無効となり、2020年に再選挙が行われることになった。さらに、選挙日に不正や技術的問題があった地域では、さらに多くの補欠選挙が行われることになった。^[8]
