ショール・スタンファー

シャウル・スタンファー（ヘブライ語: שאול שטמפפר、1948年生まれ）は、東欧ユダヤ人の研究者であり、リトアニアのイェシーバー、ユダヤ人の人口統計、移住、教育を専門としている。

シャウル・スタンファーはジョージア州アトランタでユダヤ人の家庭に生まれ、イェホシュア・スタンファーの子孫である。1965年にリンカーン高校を卒業し、1970年代にイスラエルに移住した。 1970年にイェシーバー大学で学士号を、 1982年にエルサレム・ヘブライ大学で博士号を取得した。 ^{[ 1 ]}また、アロン・シェブトのイェシバット・ハル・エツィオンでも学んだ。スタンファー教授は現在、エルサレムのラモット地区に住んでいる。

1989年から1992年にかけて、スタンファーはモスクワのユダヤ学研究所の所長を務め、同市のユダヤ大学の設立に尽力した。スタンファーは現在、エルサレムのヘブライ大学のソ連および東欧ユダヤ人史の名誉教授である。[ 2 ]彼の^{著書である}リトアニアのイェシーバー（ユダヤ教神学校）に関する本（1995年にヘブライ語で出版され、2005年に再出版）は英語に翻訳され、リトマン・ライブラリー・オブ・ジューイッシュ・シヴィライゼーションから出版されている。^{[ 3 ]}彼の多数の論文は、リトマン・ライブラリー・オブ・ジューイッシュ・シヴィライゼーションから2010年に出版された『家族、ラビ、教育：19世紀東欧の伝統的なユダヤ社会』 （ロシア語にも翻訳されている）という本に収録されている。
