ブバネシュワルにあるサイニク・スクールは、インドにある33校のサイニク・スクールの1つです。かつては男子生徒のみの寄宿学校でしたが、現在は女子生徒の入学も受け付けています。授業は英語で行われます。1962年2月1日にインド政府によってオリッサ州の州都ブバネシュワルに設立されました。中央中等教育委員会に加盟しており、インド公立学校会議（IPSC）のメンバーです。
この学校は、男子生徒をプネーのカラクワスラにある国立国防アカデミーへの入学、およびその他の様々な分野での活躍に向けて準備させる。
サイニク・スクール・ブバネシュワルは、当時のオリッサ州首相であった故ビジュ・パトナイク氏によって、1962年1月15日に臨時の政府施設で開校されました。新しい校舎とインフラは、ビジュ・パトナイク氏の個人的な指導の下、2年以内に現在の場所に建設され、1964年1月8日にジャワハルラール・ネルー首相によって開校式が行われました。
サイニク・スクール・ブバネシュワルは、オリッサ州の州都ブバネシュワルに位置し、ウトカル大学やヴァニ・ヴィハールにほど近く、国道からわずか2kmの距離にあります。空港からは約10km 、鉄道駅からはわずか8kmの 距離です。
サイニク スクールの主な目的は、男子生徒を国立国防アカデミーへの入学に向けて学業、身体、精神の面で準備し、士官候補生として採用されるために必要な高い身体、精神、知能レベルを達成することです。この学校は、国防省を最高機関とする 59 のサイニク スクール協会、地方管理委員会、および学校職員からなる 3 層の管理システムを採用しています。学校職員は、校長、教頭、事務職員、および学術・管理スタッフで構成されています。この学校のモットーは「Seva, Kartavya, Gyan, Veerta」（「सेवा कर्तव्य ज्ञान वीरता」）です。ここで「seva」は「祖国への奉仕」、「kartavya」は「義務」、「Gyan」は「知識」、「Veerta」は「勇気」を意味します。この学校は国防省から任命された3名の職員によって運営されています。
Sainik School Bhubaneswar is currently at the center of a controversy regarding its potential relocation for a road-widening project. The state government has proposed relocating the school to the outskirts of Bhubaneswar to facilitate the expansion of an existing road. This proposal has faced strong opposition from the school's alumni association and other local bodies who are demanding the plan be withdrawn. A separate issue involves a temporary dumping yard adjacent to the school, which has led to concerns about the environment and living conditions for students and staff.[1]
Admissions are given in Class VI, Class IX and Class XI. Admission for classes VI and IX is carried out on the basis of an entrance exam usually held in January.
N.C.C. is an integral part of students' life in Sainik School Bhubaneswar. The School has an Independent Company of Junior and Senior Division N.C.C. as integral part. N.C.C. unit of school comprises all the three wings of defence services i.e. the Army, Navy and Air Force.
