AnimeIowaは、アイオワ州コーラルビルのハイアットリージェンシーコーラルビルホテル＆カンファレンスセンターで毎年7月に開催される3日間のアニメコンベンションです。スタッフは全員ボランティアで、コンベンションは非営利団体のマインドブリッジ財団によって運営されています。[2] [4]
プログラミング
このコンベンションでは、アーティストアレー、コスプレコンテスト、ディーラールーム、メイドカフェ、仮面舞踏会、テーブルゲーム、ビデオゲーム、ビデオルームなどが提供される。[5] [6] [7] 2011年、メイドカフェの収益は、 2011年の東北地方太平洋沖地震と津波の被災者を支援する慈善団体We Heart Japanに寄付された。[8] AnimeIowaは、2014年にSwisher's Miracles in Motionに寄付するための募金活動を行った。[6]
歴史
AnimeIowaの最初のコンベンションは、1997年にSFLISアニメ・マンガ界の団体（SWAMP）によって開催されました。[9] 2008年の仮面舞踏会中に技術的な問題が発生し、 2008年のアイオワ州の洪水のため、一部の参加者の部屋は別のホテルに移されました。[7] 2011年のコンベンションは、 RAGBRAI自転車ライド中に開催されました。[8]カサンドラ・ホッジスは2011年のコンベンションに参加する予定でしたが、2011年6月27日に亡くなりました。[10]アイオワ・リバー・ランディングは、2015年にRAGBRAI自転車ライドとAnimeIowaの両方で使用されました。[11] [12] AnimeIowa 2020は、 COVID-19パンデミックのため中止されました。[13] [14]コンベンションはその後、8月にバーチャルイベントを開催しました。[15]
